Tegan Emerson is an Australian ceramic artist who creates decorative ritual objects designed to support grounding, reflection, and self-connection.

Drawing inspiration from the Australian coastline and surrounding landscapes, her sculptural vessels and forms echo tidal pools, coral growth, shells, and geological formations shaped slowly by water and time.

The surfaces of her works are marked by intricate textures and organic protrusions reminiscent of deep-sea ecologies, blurring the line between natural specimen and imagined artefact. Her practice leans into the mysterious and the strange, informed by an ongoing interest in the esoteric, occult symbolism, and feminine spiritual traditions. Through clay, she explores themes of transformation, protection, sensuality, and ritual, creating objects that feel both ancient and contemporary — decorative yet symbolic.

Tegan Emerson completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Sydney College of the Arts in 2010 and later graduated with a Master of Art Curatorship from the University of Sydney in 2013. Alongside her studio practice, she has built a career working across archives, curating, and digital image and collection management within cultural and government institutions. This professional background informs her sensitivity to material memory, classification, and preservation, subtly shaping how objects are conceived, documented, and understood within her artistic practice.

Formerly based in Berlin until 2023, Tegan now lives and works in Sydney on Gadigal land.
